Orion is an operations analyst at Tercera, managing the firm’s internal operations and the tracking and reporting of portfolio performance. A former Tercera intern, Orion has played a key role in researching the third wave cloud ecosystems that make up our Tercera 30, a key piece of our investment thesis. He recently graduated from Columbia University with a degree in Economics and was a student ambassador for the U.S. State Department. Conversational in French, Arabic and currently learning Spanish, Orion loves to spend his free time traveling.

What makes you tick?

I have always liked getting out of my comfort zone. Whether that is going to a new place I know nothing about, or getting exposed to new businesses, I grow and benefit from being pushed beyond the bubble that I am used to.

Why are you so passionate about helping founders and/or services businesses?

Helping founders and services businesses resonates with me because I appreciate getting to be around people who are passionate and focused on building businesses that innovate and make an impact. I’m excited to be involved as Tercera finds and cultivates the firms and founders that are changing the way we think about technology services.

What is a company you really admire and why?

I really admire Rappi. Besides being one of the first Latin American companies to raise a significant amount of capital from Silicon Valley firms, Rappi has also been able to disrupt other delivery services in Colombia and the rest of Latin America, and provide a living wage to its delivery contractors.
